Ant began his career as a Public Prosecutor and thereafter as a Senior Prosecutor in Pietermaritzburg. He then presided as a Magistrate in various Courts. He was then admitted as an Advocate and practised as a State Advocate and Senior State Advocate, where he was involved in several high profile prosecutions. He joined Stowell & Co. in late 1994 as a Candidate Attorney and was admitted as an Attorney in January 1996 and became a Director the following year.

Ant runs a general litigation practice, with a particular focus on criminal cases, defended Magistrate’s Court and High Court litigation and in MVA matters. He has also appeared in labour matters in the CCMA and Bargaining Council.

Ant is an experienced Trial Attorney in both the criminal and civil courtroom and has his Right of Appearance in the High Court.
He has served as a Commissioner of the Small Claims Court for over twenty years.

Ant’s interests, outside of the courtroom, are family, road running, somewhat ponderously now, golf, more competitively and fishing, if the opportunity arises.
